Residential sidewalks use 4-inch thick concrete at 3,000–3,500 PSI. Space control joints no more than 2.5× the width (so a 4-ft wide walk gets joints every 10 ft max). Use a broom finish for slip resistance. Keep the surface moist for 7 days during curing. A 4×50 ft sidewalk at 4 inches needs about 2.5 cubic yards.
